Katy Bridge #5 1-27-13.jpg

Katy Bridge - limited edition

Original painting: 18x24, oil on canvas

The Katy Bridge crosses the Missouri River at Boonville, Missouri.   Constructed in 1932, it carried trains and their cargo until the last train crossed the bridge in 1986.  The 400-foot-long lift span was the longest in the United States at the time the bridge was built.  The rail corridor today has been transformed into the Katy Trail State Park, a 225-mile biking and walking trail.  After an effort of over 8 years to save the bridge from impending destruction was successful, the bridge is now owned by the City of Boonville and will be restored for public use.

Prints available on Premium Archival Matte or Canvas Paper.
